The role of financial coach is to help you achieve your financial goals by helping you gain clarity on how to get from where you are financially to where you would like to be. Financial coaches help you get comfortable with your money by providing foundational education, empowerment, and accountability. A financial coach is not a financial advisor. Financial coaches do not and are not licensed to give investment advice unless they are also licensed as a financial advisor. A financial coach does not sell insurance or investment products.
I realize that was a broad definition, but honestly financial coaching is still relatively new and therefore can take many different forms depending on the coach. So, I will tell you what I do as a financial coach. My goal is to help you bring your personal finances in alignment with your goals, dreams, and your confessions of faith. I provide education on foundational topics like creating a spending plan, getting out of debt, and increasing your savings. I provide support by meeting with you regularly to develop strategies that will allow you to meet your goals and achieve the level of financial freedom you desire. I also provide accountability because let’s face it, sometimes it is easier to achieve a goal when you know you have to report to someone else.

Over the years I have realized that there are so many people burdened, sick and tired, desperate, unfulfilled, guilty, and stressed by the financial choices they have made in the past. The stress, fear, and anxiety of never feeling secure in your finances is mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually exhausting. I know this for a fact because I have been there and I’m ready to help you.
